Would you like to support the Stour Valley Lions fund-raising efforts as part of your work with your local community? 

 

All profits raised by our events are granted to charitable causes, with over 90% going to local organisations or individuals in need in Shipston and its surrounding areas.  We are always grateful for any support whether through sponsoring, providing raffle prizes, taking part in special events, displaying our posters or anything that helps us to increase the amount of money we raise.

 

Specific opportunities for supporting our fund-raising events include:

 

Annual events

• The annual Duck Race is a joint venture with the Shipston Angling Club.  The Great Duck Race 2025 is on 18th May 2025 at Shipston Bridge.  If you are interested in supporting this in any way, please contact us as soon as possible. We offer three opportunities for sponsorship:  Headline event sponsorship (£250),  Individual Race Sponsorship (£50) and lastly, participation in a Corporate Race (£20) where businesses to race their named Duck along the Stour River.  Sponsors are acknowledged through social media, in displays at the event and through announcements.  The headline sponsor is named on the one-use posters and flyers. 

 

• Shipston Food Festival is a major event for Shipston organised by Stour Valley Lions, with a footfall of about 2000 visitors.  One-use Posters and Flyers acknowledging major sponsors, are produced each year and distributed widely.  The event is advertised as far afield as Stow in the Wold, Stratford Upon Avon and even in a Gloucester free newspaper.  Depending on the level of support provided, we will provide appropriate acknowledgement.

 

• The Summer Raffle is held in conjunction with the Food Festival and tickets sold at local fetes.  We are always on the lookout for prizes – large, small, quirky, whatever!  Donations are acknowledged as appropriate on the displays and through announcements at events.  Major donated prizes are displayed on the 4000 raffle tickets.

 

• The Christmas Raffle is held in conjunction with the Victorian Evening and tickets sold at various venues around Shipston and its surrounding areas. We create quality Christmas Hampers as prizes and welcome any donations.

 

We also host events on a regular basis:

• We provide monthly Community Film Evenings.  We are trying to maintain these at a very low cost to guests, so that those residents of our town who may not get out and about very often, have a monthly event to look forward to.  Support for these could be acknowledged both at the event, on social media, in the Shipston Forum and on the posters displayed around the town.  A donation of around £150 would pay for the Film and license for one event and if arranged sufficiently in advance, be acknowledged on the advert in the Shipston Forum.

 

• Bumper Book sales are run approximately every two months at the Scout Hut.  A donation of around £50 would pay for our venue hire.  If arranged sufficiently in advance, one-off use Flyers and posters are printed for each event and can be used to acknowledge the support from any named business.
